You wake up... Sort of... And your first thought is 'It CAN'T be time yet! I NEED more sleep'.
You snooze until the last possible moment, roll out of bed and hurry to get to work in time. You drag yourself through the day and get home looking forward to going to bed.
If this is your daily pattern, here are a few things you can do to help boost your energy levels.
(Also, if you’re doing all of these things right, and you STILL feel exhausted, you should go and have some blood tests done at your doctor. You may have a thyroid issue, anaemia, sleep apnoea, or some other condition which needs medical attention.)
1. Eat more regularly
A lot of people who are tired all the time eat irregularly and erratically. They will eat nothing until lunch time (making them tired and hungry), then eat a giant, carb-laden lunch (making them more tired but less hungry) and then a fast-food dinner because they are too tired to be bothered to cook.
Try to eat smaller, healthier meals three to five times per day to maximise energy flow and blood sugar. A handful of nuts for a snack is also a healthy energy boost if you’re busy at work and don’t have time to eat a proper meal.
