The passing of actor Chadwick Boseman on Friday left many people shocked. The real-life superhero has left a lasting impression on everyone who has watched him on their screens, young and old.

The actor was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 however, not much was known about his illness as he never spoke about it publicly. He has managed to film nine movies between the time of his diagnosis and his death.

Here are the last five movies that Chadwick Boseman starred in:

 

Marshall (2017)

This biographical legal film sees Chadwick playing the first African American Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall. Set in 1930, the film focuses on one of Marshall’s first cases in his career. 

Black Panther (2018)

Directed by Ryan Coogler, this Marvel superhero movie has become one for the books. It was Marvel’s first movie with a black superhero T'Challa/ Black Panther who was played by Chadwick Boseman. Starring alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and John Kani, this film was the first of its kind with a predominantly black cast.

Chadwick has won four out of the seven nominations for Black Panther: two at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and an NAACP Image Award.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019)

As his role being a superhero continues, Chadwick was nothing short of incredible in these two Marvel sequels. Playing his character in Black Panther, he left no room for disappointment as he was into his.

21 Bridges (2019)

Not too far from his superhero character, Chadwick plays a New York Police Department detective, Andre Davis, in this action thriller. He has to find two cop-killing suspects and through doing this, he shuts down the 21 bridges of Manhattan.

He was nominated for a NAACP Image award this year.

Da 5 Bloods (2020)

From Academy Award Winner Spike Lee, this Netflix war drama follows a group of Vietnam War veterans who return to the country in search of the remains of their fallen squad leader, "Stormin'" Norman Earl Holloway who is played by Chadwick Boseman.
