But because of the current Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown regulations, they aren’t able to celebrate the way they’d like to.
Several celebs have thrown intimate baby showers to adhere to lockdown rules. Here are four local stars who’ve done just that.
Zola Nombona
The first-time mom surprised many when she revealed who baby Cebelihle’s father is, actor and filmmaker Thomas Gumede. The 28-year-old actress hosted an intimate braai with her close friends and family members for her baby shower. She also combined her birthday celebration with the shower.
Cassper Nyovest
The rapper announced the news of his first baby, a boy, by releasing the date of his next studio album, A.M.N. Cassper and mom-to-be Thobeka Majozi had a drive-thru baby shower to keep themselves safe and to adhere to the lockdown regulations.
Gabisile Tshabalala
The actress recently welcomed her second baby after announcing her pregnancy earlier in the year. Gabisile posted pictures of her baby shower the day before the national lockdown was announced. “All I can say is THANK YOU. Thank you to my friends and family who made this day soooooo special”, she captioned one of the pictures.
Itumeleng Khune
The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper made two outfit changes, alongside his wife, Sphelele Khune, at their baby shower in February. The couple wore white, along with their guests, then changed into pink outfits later in the day. They are first-time parents tod daughter Amogelang Zenande Khune.
