Covid-19 cases in the entertainment industry have been on the rise – with shows halting production due to cast or crew members coming into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

Actor and musician Brian Temba is the latest celebrity to test positive for Covid-19. In a live video, he shared that he was informed by a colleague he had been in a meeting with that they had tested positive for the coronavirus, which led to him to get tested.

He took to social media to share his status and feelings after a close industry friend died from the illness.

“Sometime we take things for granted and we think some of the bad things that happen in the world would not affect us until it’s on your doorstep. A few days ago I tested positive for Covid-19, when I thought it would be something that wouldn’t get close to me,” he captioned the video.

Brian said he had learnt “that an industry friend passed due to this pandemic. You can imagine my fear after that, but I remembered the word said, No weapon formed against me shall prosper”.

The actor also used the opportunity to warn people to take the regulations seriously and to adhere to them, to stay safe and “live as if they are on level 5”.

In the video, he mentioned that he was feeling okay and had hope in a higher power that he will make it through this.

“I have a family I love, so I have to beat this. I’m on the mend as we speak and will come out victorious,” he said.

We hope Brian stays safe and we wish him a speedy recovery!
