She’s had to face people at their lowest moments. As the new host of the SABC 1 reality show, It Takes a Village, she’s been on a heavy emotional rollercoaster.

Presenter and radio host Pearl Modiadie (32) is taking over from DJ Zinhle and Teko Modise, who hosted the first season and second seasons of the show, respectively.

The show, due to air on  30 September tells the stories of young people going through hard times like addiction, depression, self-esteem issues or recovering from sexual trauma.
