In 2014, the rapper was arrested during a raid at the Quad Studios in Manhattan where police discovered 21 guns, crack cocaine, and marijuana. He was also arrested because he was suspected of being a ringleader of a gang known as "GS9".
Police arrested Bobby and 14 others, including his brother Javese.
According to TMZ, “the committee reviewed Shmurda’s behavior and participation in prison programs and decided to bump up his conditional release date”. He'll be under parole supervision until 2026.
TMZ also reported that the rapper’s mother, Leslie Pollard, spoke about Shmurda’s release and what he plans to do. She told them that while she is “counting down the hours” to see her son, he plans on keeping it “chill” and even wants to dive back into making music again as soon as possible.
Shmurda was released 10 months early.
