Just when we thought we had seen it all, Dintle has become the CEO of NFH on e.tv’s Scandal!.

The actress behind the character, Mapaseka Koetle-Nyokong says she didn't see this one coming either.

“We all know that Dintle is a hustler, but a CEO? Even I did not see this coming,” she tells Drum.

“The truth is that Didi saw an opportunity and she took it”.

She explains that her character has always wanted the finer things in life and a good life in general, but she has not been prepared to work for it.

“She wanted quick fixes and short cuts. But recently, we have seen her putting in the work and doing her best. However, she felt Layla (played by Natasha Sutherland) was not giving her a chance,” she says.

Pasi, as she is affectionately known, says she's happy Dintle got the CEO job from Chumani (Ayanda Daweti) and no one else.

“At least Chumani is gay, so we know she didn't sleep her way to the top.

“She is just playing her cards right and I am hoping that things will work out for her.

Pasi has portrayed Dintle for a long time and she feels like they have grown together.

“I feel like through her, I have learnt not to judge people harshly. I am happy for her because she has really come a long way,” she says.

The first thing Dintle did in her new office was to put her feet up on the desk and call her aunt to tell her that she was now the boss at NFH. The second thing she did was a Google search on “how to be a CEO”.

“Dintle man! She is googling how to be a CEO when she is already in the job,” Pasi laughs.

“It has been really interesting for me to read the comments that people are making on social media. People think she will run the company into the ground. We will all have to wait and see how things work out.

“This is a common thing in real life too. People tend to undermine or underestimate others because they are not as educated. What Dintle lacks in formal education, she makes up for in drive and being streetwise.

“All of our journeys are different. Some go to school and get qualifications and others make successes of themselves without even a matric,” says Pasi.

“I am not saying people should not go to school, but I hope Dintle’s journey can be a lesson that you are not defined by your background. Leave it in the past and focus on creating a bright future for yourself.”

In the coming days, Pasi says viewers can expect to see Dintle being strategic and ensuring that surrounds herself with a solid team to take the company to the next level because “she knows she cannot do it all on her own”.

“People need to learn to respect everyone, regardless of titles, because the truth is in life nothing is certain and the table can turn and suddenly a Dintle is your boss,” Pasi says.

Pasi is also famous her Moqoqo Fridays, which are short skits she posts on her social media.

“I try to be creative and use humour to address everyday issues that affect us all, without offending anyone,” she explains.

“I am always observing people's different behaviours. I did not start it to make any money but through it, I have managed to secure partnerships with different brands”.
