Former Idols contestant and talented singer Loyiso Gijana recently took to social media to open up about his weight struggle, saying others often told him to lose weight.

“For a long time, I struggled with how I look, how I dress and my weight. I went through a phase whereby everyone I met told me I should ‘lose weight’. This scared me and, as a man, it was hard to come out and be vulnerable about it because of stigmas and social standards. I was pressured by the idea of how men need to be strong no matter what and that tears meant weakness,” Loyiso posted.
