Actor Mothusi Magano will be joining the cast of Skeem Saam and will play a law student named Tumishang.

According to Skeem Saam publicist Sumaya Mogola, Tumishang, will be in same class as Pretty Seakamela portrayed by Lerato Marabe and takes his studies seriously because he failed to finish his degree when he was studying with Leeto Maputla played by Eric Macheru.

“He is back to finish his degree at Limpopo University; and like most mature students, he is not here to play. He takes his studies seriously and wants to finish his degree this time around,” she explains.

Mothuso, who is in his 30s, is quite excited to be joining the youth soapie and is looking forward to the challenges it will throw at him.

“I was excited because to be a working actor is a privilege and I love being there – everybody at Skeem Saam is so nice. I look forward to going to work, hearing them all joke around, they're like a family, it's awesome,” he says.

He says there’s something that the viewers can learn from his character.

“The fact that it’s never too late to do what your truly passionate about. Challenges come along, but they don’t stay forever. Audience will also learn that everything isn’t always as it seems,” he says.

Sumaya can’t confirm how long the character will be on the show. However, viewers can look forward to seeing his debut on Friday 20 September.

“Viewers will see Tumishang for a while. We can’t put a time stamp on that yet though,” she says.
