Samkelo Ndlovu leaves 'Rhythm City'

Local actress Samkelo Ndlovu who played the role of Lerato in Rhythm City shared the news on Twitter in a long thread supported by screenshots of notes she wrote.

"Without dragging this out- I’d like to formally announce my departure from Rhythm City drama. I have stated reasons why I am explaining this in the statement below," she tweeted.

In her statement, Samkelo mentions she had been with the show for seven years and had attempted to leave the previous year but was asked to stay for one more year.

The actress went on to say that her and the employer were parting on a positive note as stated below.

"I encourage you to not to listen to any tabloids or rumors about my exit. I’ve had an awesome time," she tweeted.

In addition to Samkelo's departure the official press release stated that Amo Chidi who plays the role of Reneilwe will be leaving the show too.

"On behalf of the Rhythm City team, we would like to wish Samkelo and Amo all the best for their future. We will value their personification of the roles they played on the show and thank them for their dedication to entertaining the audiences. Thank you for being a part of the eFamily," said e.tv head of local productions Ziyanda Mngomezulu.
