AKA set to host a first-of-its-kind event


Award-winning hip-hop artist AKA has announced details of his upcoming show, , which is set to take place on Sunday 17 March at the Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria.

The rapper announced and shared a poster of the event on Instagram, which is said to be the first of its kind in South Africa for a hip-hop act.

AKA has released three solo albums to date and said he believes now is the perfect time to bring his “catalogue and legacy to life in what is to be a legendary night of music, friends, family and most of all, celebration of the MEGACY”.

Speaking to DRUM it is clear the artist is excited about the upcoming event. “This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. I want to give my fans a different opportunity to see me perform,” AKA says.

The event has been created, developed and produced in partnership with Mahogany and Vertex Events and will see the popular performer take the stage with the backing of a 30-piece orchestra.

Special musical guests will be announced soon and tickets for the event range from R200-R450 and are available at Computicket outlets nationwide or online.
