Reality TV star Princess Love has filed for divorce from her husband of four years, singer Ray J.

According to E! News the Love & Hip Hop star officially filed on 5 May.

The pair got married in 2016 in a lavish private ceremony. Over the past few months the couple’s marital problems have played out in public on their show, VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. And it doesn’t seem like they’ve ever really seen eye to eye, even when they were still dating.

A year before they got married Ray J pushed Princess into the pool during a heated argument featured on an episode of their reality show.

Last November, while they were expecting their second child, a then-pregnant Princess Love accused the R&B singer of leaving her and their daughter “stranded” in Las Vegas without a safe way to get home.

The social-media scandal escalated further when Princess Love claimed Ray J had left their Vegas hotel room to "party with escorts and strippers”.

During an interview on The Wendy Williams Show, the singer said the rumours were false and offered an apology to his wife. “It didn’t happen like that, I would never leave my wife and my baby stranded. I would die first before leaving them on the side [of the] road,” he said at the time.

Even after her husband’s television apology, Princess still vowed to file for divorce. And months later she has kept her promise.
