“I’ve played a lot of glamorous roles in the past. But there is nothing glamorous about Mme Ntswaki. This is a meaty role and I’m really enjoying it,” she tells Move!.

Generations: The Legacy publicist Nandipha Phantsi says Monnye has taken on the role of Mme Ntswaki, Palesa’s (Busisiwe Xaba) mother who arrives in town unexpectedly.

“Mme Ntswaki is a resilient woman who is willing to do anything to make her children happy. She’s a hustler with good intentions, but her weakness is quick money,” she says of the character.

The character is expected to ruffle a few furthers.

When she arrives at Palesa’s doorstep, she seems tired and worn out. She’s disappointed to hear that Palesa is a sex worker and vows to do everything in her power to change her life.  But things don’t go according to plan and Palesa is left with a shocking disaster on her hands.

Nandipha didn’t share details on how long the new character will be on the show.
