While others came to her offense by saying her tweet had been misunderstood.

The model then issued out a statement in which she expressed how her tweet was misunderstood and that people wouldn’t always agree with her.

“I appreciate those of you who took the time to engage with my tweet. Both in agreement because they understood the sentiment and those who were angered by it. We wont always see eye to eye,” she began.

“…There are an estimated 7.97m people living with the disease in SA alone. Of those 7.97m my family has been directly affected by the disease," she revealed.

"…I've noted with keenness how little many of you think of my intelligence and lack therefore. I can accept that... Seeing someone suffer from AIDS and any other disease is scary and painful," she concluded the statement.
