While many people are in panic mode about the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, one of South Africa’s most celebrated choirs, Ndlovu Youth Choir, is spreading a hopeful message.
In the song We’ve Got This - Fight Against Coronavirus/COVID-19, the group covers the main guidelines people need to follow to curb the spread of this virus.
“There are already many dangerous myths and misunderstandings about the Coronavirus/COVID-19. We would like to assist by sharing a short video where we explain some basic guidelines,” they captioned the video.
The group list five do’s and don’ts that individuals can action in order to minimise the spread of coronavirus:
1. Wash your hands
2. Don't touch you face
3. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow
4. If you think you may have the virus call our local Covid-19 hotline: 0800-029-999 (RSA)
5. Do not spread rumours or panic.
On Sunday, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a broad range of measures which included the closure of schools, travel restrictions and the prohibition of gatherings of more than 100 people to try to curb the spread of the virus.
In South Africa confirmed Covid-19 cases currently stand at 116 cases (at the time of publishing).
