Nomzamo Mbatha's powerful message about the coronavirus pandemic

Actress Nomzamo Mbatha has called on the haves to be considerate of the have-nots during this Covid-19 pandemic.

Nomzamo encouraged the spirit of ubuntu in order to get through this pandemic. She says she knows there are the disadvantaged who will be affected the most by this coronavirus.

"With everyone 'panic buying' and wiping out the shelves, let's remember other people who may also need food and supplies too. Buy what you need and spare a thought for the less fortunate and most vulnerable. We are all equally uncertain about just how deeper the gravity of the situation will get so let’s remember UBUNTU in it all," she posted on Instagram.

She says as people are socially distancing themselves and are in isolation, they must not stop checking on their loved ones, friends and colleagues. She points out that we need each other now more than ever.

"For me it's been withered space that I'm in. Having to be in a foreign country and away from my family. So check up on people and be there for each other. I’m grateful that my family gets to call, text and video call me so I don’t get to feel very alone," she says.

She says even though physical social distancing is encouraged, let’s not mentally and emotionally distance ourselves from others.

She cautioned about the dangers of spreading incorrect information. She encouraged everyone to verify information before they forward to others.

"Educating each other and spending this time to be there for one another and be socially responsible in curbing the spread of the virus," she says.

She also thanked all the healthcare workers for their incredible work while putting their lives at risk. She encourages everyone not to be demotivated.
