Gospel star Dr Rebecca Malope has announced with sadness that she won’t be part of The Gospel Cruise line-up as previously announced.

“Hi Family, I was really looking forward to a week of worship and praise but unfortunately things did not come together as planned. Hopefully we will be able to take part in the cruise next year,” she posted on Instagram.

Sis Ribs, as affectionately known, said it’s “due to circumstances out of myself and the event organisers’ control’.

Neither the star nor the organisers divulged the circumstances which led to Sis Ribs’ withdrawal from performing on the cruise.

The cruise will be sailing from Durban to Pomene, Mozambique, and back to Durban from 9 to 13 March.

The audience will be treated to gospel shows, workshops, a church service as well as the opportunity to interact directly with gospel artists at a Q&A session, all while enjoying the amenities of the MSC Orchestra cruise ship.

Dr Rebecca will be replaced by Dr Tumi who will share the stage with Ntokozo Mbambo, Takie Ndou, Ayanda Ntanzi and more.

“You asked and we listened! Dr Tumi will once again be joining us on #GospelCruise2020! Are you ready for your Gospel Cruise experience to be amplified?!” the organisers announced.
