Samthing Soweto apologises for his ‘poor performance’ at the Idols SA finale

Samthing Soweto took to stage to sing his biggest hits, Amantomabazane and Akulaleki, at the Idols SA finale on Sunday night but his performance left many unimpressed.

Following multiple fans expressing their disappointment on social media, the singer whose album ‘Isiphitipithi’ recently went platinum, addressed his fans in a video and apologised for his performance.

“I am really sorry, I don’t have an excuse but hopefully I will have an opportunity to redeem myself,” he said.

He also added that this was not his first poor performance on Idols SA. In 2017 he sang ‘Akanamali’ at the live show and after watching videos he explained that he was also unhappy with his performance.

“On Idols things are moving fast, there’s dancers and there are so many distractions, you kind of feel like a cow and a car is about to crash into you,” he explained.

He ended off the video by pleading for some leniency from fans because he is ‘human too’.

“Some of the comments are scary, but I just wanted to let you guys know how I felt and that I hear what you are saying loud and clear” he ended.
