Sbahle Mpisane hit the runway in her wheelchair – and it was the perfect moment

Cape Town - After Sbahle Mpisane’s fatal accident, a lot of people didn’t think she’d make it out alive, but she’s proven to be quite the fighter. Her recovery journey has inspired many, and she’s only getting better.

Her most recent achievement was hitting the runway, looking gorgeous as ever, in an ensemble by a local designer, House of St Luke at the Durban Fashion Fair 2019 recently.

The 26-year-old fitness bunny posted a video of herself strolling down the runway, covered in a white veil that was later removed, revealing the clothes. As she was followed by other models, a song by The Soil played in the background for the perfect ambiance.

Apart from the video itself, her caption alone was enough to inspire her followers who commented with words of encouragement, including actress Gail Mabalane and fitness guru, Takkies.

“I am woman, hear me roar,” Sbahle wrote.

Although she finds herself with a leg brace on one of her legs, which is why she couldn’t walk down the runway, Sbahle is determined not to let that stop her. To encourage herself and others to never give up, she recently wrote:

“The challenge I am facing will come to an end. I daily overcome every single struggle and challenge because I don’t want it to have power to break me! Being in the rare midst of confusion and on what to do, I keep believing that I will get through it all. It might seem hard to go over the bump on the road or it might even be harder to keep going when you want to give up, but I won’t give up!!!”
