One of Mzansi’s most-watched drama series has run out of new episodes to air. Uzalo will be off-air from 11 May and will return to screens on 15 June, according to a press statement released by the soap’s production team.
Production of the popular series has been affected by the national lockdown due to Covid-19. As a result of the lockdown, production companies had to put their shoots on hold.
Speaking of the effects of Covid-19, the Uzalo team said, “Production was profoundly impacted, as it directly resulted in the show not having enough material to flight.
“It is important to us to ensure we deliver content that adheres to the Covid-19 protocols, safeguarding our active cast, crew and greater community.”
Production was allowed to resume on 6 May but the SABC has prohibited any intimate kissing scenes during the shoots, this is for the safety of actors and production teams.
Taking to Instagram, Uzalo actor Siyabonga Shibe wrote “We will be back with a bang.”
