WATCH: Somizi encourages his fans to wash their hands and stay at home!

Trust Somizi to add a pinch of humour during a tense period in the country as the coronavirus (COVID-19) infections rise and panic and worry increases among South Africans.

The media personality sitting outside his porch at home, had a message to share with his 2.9 million Instagram followers.

In the video, Somizi is heard singing a remixed version of one of Mzansi’s most popular songs, Emcimbini by Piano kings DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.

His humorous version of the song ironically has some tips for keeping safe during this time. In it he advises people to wash their hands and stay at home.

As the government tries to keep the number of infections controlled, there have been new rules put into effect.

Although funny, this message by Somizi is in line with what Minister of Police Bheki Cele’s official announcement on Thursday has emphasised.

Partygoers and alcohol consumers have been advised to drink at home. From Mondays to Fridays no alcohol will be consumed outside of your home and Saturdays and Sundays no alcohol will be sold and consumed after 1pm.
