1 Put the chickpeas, garlic(if using), avocado flesh and cottage cheese in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until smooth.

2 Add the lemon juice and olive oil and pulse until well combined. Season with salt.

3 Transfer the spread to a glass jar or air tight container and chill until needed.
