Ingredients
- 500g - beef mince
- 45ml - plain yoghurt
- 10ml - paprika
- 5ml - ground cumin
- 5ml - ground coriander
- 5ml - ground cinnamon
- - pinch of ground nutmeg
- 5ml - cayenne pepper
- - salt and freshly ground pepper
- - handful of fresh coriander, roughly chopped
- 1 - onion, grated
- 30ml - butter
- 80ml - lentils
- 2,5ml - ground cumin
- - pinch of ground ginger
- 2 - pinches of cayenne pepper
- - pinch of turmeric
- 125ml - hot water
- - salt and freshly ground pepper
- - bread to serve
Method
Meatballs
1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Shape into golf-sized balls and put in the fridge until needed.
Sauce
2. Put a pan over medium heat. Add the onion, butter, lentils, spices and hot water and cook for about 5 minutes to blend the flavours.
3 Gently add the meatballs to the sauce, cover and poach for 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with the bread.
