Growing up he had two passions: playing soccer and technology. After matric, Lesley Ncube hung up his soccer boots for good when he found his way back to his first love after having learnt about Microsoft founder Bill Gates at a young age.
“I was 14 when I fell in love with tech,” Lesley tells DRUM. “I realised that this is what I should do to work towards making a change, and the impact I want in the tech industry for Africa.”
These days the young man from KwaZulu-Natal is the proud owner of Thatha, a software and computer hardware company he started two years ago. “Thatha, which means take in isiZulu, started as an online shop and I’ve always had a bigger vision for it,” Lesley says.
