To celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day in 2019, women on Twitter started a beautiful trend, in which they told their first period stories – and we still love it.
According to Medicine Net the average age for a girl to get her first period is 12. Most of the women on the tread concurred with this and shared stories – which were, for the most part, more positive than one would think.
Only a few women mentioned what most of us would have probably had – an embarrassing experience.
Here are 21 of our favourite tweets from the empowering hashtag.
