
We’ve gotten used to wearing masks, social distancing and sanitising our hands often in order to curb the spread of Covid-19. Now American fast-food giant Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has decided to play their part in adhering to the pandemic’s regulations.

According to CNN Business, KFC has decided to put a hold on their famous 64-year-old slogan “it’s finger lickin’ good”. The global chief marketing officer at KFC, Catherine Tan-Gillespie said, “we find ourselves in a unique situation – having an iconic slogan that doesn't quite fit in the current environment.”
The company has used a video to announce this temporary change. The slogan will be used again once the time is right but nothing else is going to change, the food is going to remain the same.
KFC in South Africa was amongst the many fast-food restaurants that had to cease trading at the beginning of the lockdown. Burger King South Africa was one of the outlets that had been affected the most by the Covid-19 impact, as reported by Business Tech. The South African franchise had R100 million knocked off from its initial valuation due to the impact of Covid-19.
