Ace Ncobo (52) has been pulled out of his 10-year semi-retirement to fill the post and says he’s well aware of the work that lies ahead. “This is not a position I take lightly,” he tells us.

The former football ref jokes that all the messages of congratulations he’s received are strange because he feels like a “slave is being brought to slavery”.

But despite the challenges, he’s excited about the prospect of being able to make a difference in the lives of young black entrepreneurs.
