It might as well be a house pulled from a fairy tale, a colossal castle with a matriarch to match at its helm. Stepping into the house an enormous glass chandelier hangs in the foyer, which features glass balustrades leading to two sets of stairs.
This is the jaw-dropping home of Shauwn Mkhize. The powerful businesswoman’s mansion has been the envy of everyone who has caught a glimpse of it.
Each room has its own theme and colour and features custom-made furniture with plush rugs strewn across the expansive floors. It’s in one of the rooms we catch up with the business mogul, who wants to clear the air around the misconceptions that have followed her brand.
In a previous interview with DRUM magazine, Shauwn’s son Andile told us they had bought a new soccer club after resigning from Royal Eagles FC. The construction guru clarifies that they haven’t bought Real Kings FC, but they are sponsoring the Durban-based club.
In spite of their immense wealth, Shauwn also says they’re just a regular family. Check out the full interview in DRUM magazine’s 20 February issue as they talk all things Kwa Mamkhize, new business ventures and Sbahle getting back to tip top shape.
