Author Soweto Mandlanzi on allegedly receiving death threats over Senzo Meyiwa’s biography: “If they shoot me, they shoot me”

Author of Senzo Meyiwa’s book Sabelo ‘Soweto’ Mandlanzi has confirmed to Move! that he’s been getting death threats for publishing the biography titled Decoding 666_9: The inexplicable Life of Senzo Meyiwa.

Soweto, as he is popularly known, says he doesn’t want to give these threats much attention as he they are just a distraction from the book.

“The threats are true, but they are overshadowing the truth that I wrote,” he confirms, adding, “If they shoot me, they shoot me.”

He says these threats are not new because they started when he was still writing the book about the former Bafana Bafana goalie.

Soweto says he doesn’t know the person or people making these threats and doesn’t want to bother himself with that.

“They are threatened because it awakens the spirit of Senzo and a lot of things. It opens old wounds,” he tells Move!

Soweto is irritated that these threats are making this whole thing about him instead of Senzo’s book.

“I don’t want this to be about me. It’s about Senzo,” he sternly says. “My objectives were not to expose the killers. My intentions were to comfort the family, put bread on his family’s table,” he explains.
