Business woman and former Miss South Africa has exposed a weight loss scam that was using her name and pictures for advertising. Garcinia Cambogia Direct, said in a print advert that they were the reason Basetsana had lost 9 kgs in one month. Taking instagram, Basetsana posted the fake advert with a statement denouncing any involvement with the brand.
"Dear Instafam, Kindly find my response to the weight lies and scam posted about me on Facebook and other social media," she said. She then posted the following statement on her social media platforms as well as her website;
'If you see a weight loss advert with my endorsement online, please do not use it.
It has come to my attention that Khensani Nkosi has apparently “revealed” my weight loss secret on Instagram and Facebook.
I have supposedly lost dramatic weight using a certain product called Garcinia Cambogia.
Firstly, I have never heard of this product, nor have I ever used it. I am not part of its endorsement or promotion.
This is a hoax and a scam to lure the public into buying this product. It has further been brought to my attention that because of Khensani supposedly revealing “my secret” we now have an Instagram war going on and I am “lashing’ out at her.
I would like to explicitly say that Khansani is not involved in any of this.
This is also a fabricated lie devoid of any truth. Khensani and I have known each other for many years and hold each other in high esteem as friends, businesswomen and mothers.'
Garcinia Cambogia is distributed in South Africa by garciniaslim.co.za and efforts to get comment from them were fruitless as the only person we spoke at the company couldn't comment.
