Berlin November horse race promises lots of entertainment

The sleepy Eastern Cape is set to come alive on Saturday, 26 November, with the Berlin November traditional horse racing event.

The event, which is the province’s version of the Durban July, takes place at the Berlin Horse race course in East London.

The Eastern Cape’s flagship sport and lifestyle event, which is in its third year, offers various attractions that await revellers and sports enthusiasts.

It combines traditional horse racing handicap, year-end functions, a fashion show, craft stalls, music festival, food court, children’s village and a fun run.

Businessman Luthando Bara, who is the founder of Berlin November, says the event is for all those who seek respite from a province starved of entertainment.

“We decided to curate an annual event with a rich tapestry of VIP lounges, contemporary design couture, entertainment and gourmet food. We are offering an experience unrivalled in the Eastern Cape and want to invite the private sector to use the facility on the day for their year-end functions. The event also offers a celebrity spectacle, loads of fun while you can indulge privately with our various VIP marque options” says Luthando.

This year’s star-studded event will see the likes of Vusi Nova, DJ Bongz, Vetkuk vs Mahoota, KO and Pastor the DJ entertaining the crowds while actress Lusanda Mbane, Moshe Ndiki and radio presenter Mafa Bavuma will be the MCs.

Last year the event attracted around 7000 revellers.
