Brickz back in court

Ndlovu, known as Brickz in the music industry, was arrested in November for allegedly raping the girl.

The rape was reported to have occurred in March.

After an unsuccessful application for bail in the magistrate's court, Ndlovu's legal team headed to the high court where they secured him bail of R50,000 in December.

During the bail proceedings, Ndlovu's team indicated that he intended to plead not guilty to the charges.

During his previous court appearance on August 1, the musician's newly appointed legal representative Dumisani Mabunda asked the court to postpone the case in order to allow him to make representations to the national director of public prosecutions (NDPP).

The postponement was granted with the understanding that the representations needed to be finalised.

"I have obtained the contents of the docket only today and need time to study it to make proper presentations to the NDPP," Mabunda told reporters outside court after the postponement at the time.

Mabunda said the case against his client was "weak anded with holes".
