Celebrities mark Mandela Day

To mark 67 Minutes celebritiesPearl Thusi, Mafikizolo, Lorna Maseko-Luhkele, 7de Laan’s Mimi Mahlasela, RGB’s Sinazo Yolwa, Relo from Skwatta Kamp, Bobo from Denim, Kamo Mampe from Muvhango, model Jacinda Louw, Janine Davies from Strictly Come Dancing and Hip Hop artist Da Les were invited to help cook, entertain and host the children who all come of families of poverty and abuse at the Thuthukani Community.

Rapper Da les cooked the children food as Pearl Thusi made some pap while the other celebrities organised a dance competition that the children thoroughly enjoyed Thuthukani Community Centre was established in 2003 as a place of care for about 400 orphans and victims of abuse in the community.

As these children don’t pay for their services, the centre depends on businesses for support. Besides day-care, it offers aftercare for scholars, which includes a meal, assistance with homework, and activities such as art, sport, drama and dance.
