Chilli M set to spread message of hope

Ukhozi FM DJ, Chilli M has taken not only to discard the error of his past ways but has also decided to find a positive spin to them. Chilli, born Vukani Masinga, has made it public via his radio show that he would be dying as a result of his ailing liver, a consequence of his alcohol addiction.

The Sowetan reports that Masinga has been sober for a month now following a doctor's recommendation that if he continued drinking, he would not live for much longer.

"I thought I had gout but the doctor said I was lacking vitamin B, because my liver was damaged," the Nethezeka host said as quoted by the paper.

Now Chilli M has decided to turn his mess into a message.

"I don't want other people to commit the same mistakes as me. I have messed up in my life," he said.

"No other DJ has been fired from radio like me. All this happened because of my drinking problem. I want to encourage those who drink to do it responsibly," he continued.

Masinga will be going across the country speaking out about alcohol and drug abuse.

His first seminar will begin this Saturday in KwaZulu-Natal at the Harding taxi rank which will be followed by another at Mount Nebo which is also in Harding.

We wish Chilli all the success in his new venture.
