Already financially squeezed consumers may have to dig deeper into their pockets if the expected petrol price increase kicks in by the end of the month.

Data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) states that petrol price looks set to rise by as much as 26c a litre next month and diesel by about 1c to 3c.
