Female police officers to handle accidents involving women


The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police, have created a special department to assist only women drivers who are involved in traffic accidents.

According to the emirates247.com, the female officers will also provide psychological support to these women to help them cope with the emotional shock from the accidents they are involved in, and take their statements.

The website says this will preserves a woman’s privacy and puts women at ease to ensure a seamless investigation process.

To this end, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate has set up an office to handle traffic accidents involving female drivers.

It also provided specialised female police officers to follow-up the circumstances surrounding the accidents, both on site and at the legal offices.

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city in the United Arab Emirates.
