Going to space is something that seems like a far-fetched dream for some people, but for this billionaire it is an attainable one and he wants to share it with one lucky lady.
According to CNN, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is looking for a life partner to fly to the moon with him on a SpaceX rocket.
Taking to Twitter to share the news, the fashion tycoon posted a poster of the online search to find his partner.
“[WANTED!!!] Why not be the ‘first woman’ to travel to the moon?,” he wrote.
An online appeal for his search, which will also be turned into a documentary, revealed that the search was prompted by his feelings of loneliness.
“I'm sure I've been able to acquire my share of money, social status, and fame along the way. But now I'm restarting my life. I'm 44 now. As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there's one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman,” he explained.
“I made my decision and finally decided to go on the program. I want to find a "life partner". With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space,” he continued.
According to the New York Times, Maezawa has a net worth of $3.6 billion (+- R51.7 billion) which is from an online fashion marketplace called Zozotown. But the billionaire has since resigned from the management of the site after selling a stake to Yahoo.
The tweet has since received over 25000 retweets, 72000 likes as well as 7000 comments.
Entries to the search close on Friday 17 January 2020, selections will begin from 25 January 2020 to the 26th. These will then be followed by matchmaking dates with Yusaku Maezawa and special dates getting to know Yusaku Maezawa which will take place mid-February and mid-Mrach respectively. The final partner will be chosen at the end of March.
The date to the moon is set to take place in 2023.
