A driver who knocked down and killed two boys in Delft, Cape Town, was still on the run, the Cape Times reported on Tuesday.

A case of culpable homicide was opened after seven-year-old Sanilsiwe Magqadeni, and his two-year-old brother Lethu Mfengwane were knocked down while walking home in the N2 Gateway housing project on Sunday evening.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer November Filander said residents believed a speeding white BMW was responsible.

On Monday, hundreds of residents protested in Abedale Road, where the boys were killed. They burned tyres and blocked the road with stones, demanding that the city build speed bumps.
