3-ingredient Vetkoek

Preparation: 5 Min | Cooking: 10 Min | Serves 4


750ml (3c) self-raising flour

5ml (1t) salt

250ml (1c) warm water

oil for deep frying


  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and water and knead to a smooth dough.
  • Heat the oil in a large pot.
  • Divide the dough into 12 balls and fry in the hot oil until golden.
  • Remove the vetkoek from the oil and drain on kitchen towel.
  • Serve with fillings of your choice.
