Fried bacon & calamari in lemon butter sauce


Served with crusty bread, this saucy surf and turf meal is perfect for dipping!


Lemon butter sauce

45ml (3T) olive oil

60ml (¼c butter, melted

60ml (¼c) lemon juice

15ml (1T) black pepper

15ml (1T) cayenne pepper

2 garlic cloves


Fried bacon & calamari

400g Eskort Streaky Bacon

1kg calamari tubes

45ml (3T) olive oil

olive oil for frying


Lemon butter sauce

  • Pulse all ingredients in a food processor until well combined and set aside.

Fried bacon & calamari

  • In a large frying pan over moderate heat, fry the bacon until crispy then remove from the pan.
  • Turn the heat to high, coat the calamari tubes in olive oil and flash fry in the hot pan.
  • Turn down the heat, pour in the lemon butter sauce and shake well to coat the calamari.
  • Remove the pan from heat and mix in the crispy bacon.
  • Serve the bacon and calamari with a side of crusty bread.
