We ended the year with a wonderful stokvel event in association with Standard Bank – here’s what you missed

It was the last stokvel event of the year – but certainly not our last event. Not even corona could stop us!

Our stokvel series is dedicated to the wonders of stokvels and how to successfully save and grow to achieve your goals. And who better than Standard Bank to weigh in?

We recently joined forces with the banking institution to bring you everything you need to know about borrowing money and how to keep ahead in your finances.

Back to basics

Learning to borrow the right way is crucial for your financial health and this was explored at length by the head of client solutions at Standard Bank, Magdeline Thidiela.

The virtual stokvel event kicked off with a word of motivation from Apostle Negross Manana, who encouraged everyone to think beyond the moment and understand that they still have so much to give. Failure isn’t the end, he reminded our viewers.

The virtual event stayed true to Covid regulations while giving the much-needed motivational boost everyone needed during these tough times.

It ended with some inspirational and educational words from stokvel expert Busi Skenjana, who detailed the benefits of saving. She also reminded the audience about the importance of trust in a stokvel – and making sure you get together with people you know.

And what’s a stokvel event without prizes? Thankfully event-goers won’t experience this. We’ve got you! There were tons of giveaways and much to take away.

The audience couldn’t get enough of the information and sent questions by the dozens.

If you missed out, be sure to keep an eye out for our next event in the new year.

For now, keep saving, spend wisely and we’ll see you in 2020!
