I was attacked in the bus on my way home from work. I was lucky as someone came to help me, but now I’m so scared that I don’t want to get back in the bus ever again. I need the transport to get to and from work, but it is very hard for me. I shake and sweat and will only go if there’s someone I know with me. This isn’t a good way to live, so how can I get over this?

It is so sad that you had to go through such a bad experience that’s now disrupting your life. The symptoms you’re experiencing indicate you’re suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. It would have been ideal for you to have received trauma debriefing or trauma counselling straight after the ordeal, but it’s not too late.
