I’m a Tswana man and in a relationship for six years now with a Swazi woman.

She has two children, now aged six and 10, from two different fathers and I love them with all my heart.

I want to marry her, but she has photos of all the men she’s been involved with and a big book called “Memories of Thoughts” about them, and she gets really angry when I ask how long she intends keeping it.

On her Facebook profile she even listed “men” under her interests.

Perhaps you should rephrase your question to her and ask her why she’s keeping this memory book, instead of how long she will keep it.

Her response might make you see her point of view.

Be honest with her and tell her how it affects your relationship with her and makes you feel as her partner.

Tell her about your intentions for the future and indicate your doubts.

She needs to realise she might lose a good man while holding on to the past.
