I’m 27 and dating a girl who is 24. We had a child about three years ago but she cheated on me when she was pregnant.

Now I’m not sure whether the child is mine or not. I’m also unsure if I can afford a paternity test because I don’t know how much they cost.

My parents say the child is mine because she looks like me.

Should I go for a paternity test or trust my girlfriend?

Sis Dolly answers

Sometimes you have to follow your instincts – just be sure that you explain your decision to have the paternity test clearly to your girlfriend.

Make sure she isn’t offended and that it doesn’t ruin your relationship.

You have the assurance of your family that the child is yours but if you are in doubt, you can call the National Health Laboratory Service on 011-489-9470 for assistance.
