With Mother’s Day falling on 10 May 2020, what better way to kick off the special day by celebrating the little people who made it possible for us to be called mothers?

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we have compiled a few of our favourite messages from our local celeb moms to their kids.

1.       Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala

The former Miss South Africa and wife to soccer player Siphiwe Tshabalala shared a message reflecting on how happy she was when she found out she was going to be a mom for the first time when she was pregnant with her son and how her son has taught her so much about herself.

“You and I my son have been through it all and I am so blessed to have you as my son[sic],” she wrote in an Instagram post.

2.       Zizo Tshwete

The former Miss SA Teen, media personality and businesswoman, showed appreciation to her son. Taking to her Instagram page she wrote about how much her son makes her want to be a better person in every way possible.

“I love you’, ‘Thank you’, ‘We’re gonna keep trying our best[sic],” she wrote.

3.       Nkateko “Takkies” Dinwiddy

The fitness instructor and choreographer spoke to Move!, in February, about how complicated and difficult her second pregnancy has been.

“It was tough in the beginning,” Takkies said.

“My first trimester was frightening, and I didn’t have my usual doctor. I had it easy with my first pregnancy. This baby is already showing me what a strong personality it has.”

And looks like it has become a little easier with time. We have seen the mom-of-two posting her usual videos of her working out and dancing. And she shared a picture last month, with a caption “We can’t wait to meet you baby.”

4.       Zola Nombona

Actress Zola announced her pregnancy on social media on Valentine’s Day. And has since shared pictures of her baby bump.

However, it was the touching love letter to her unborn baby that captured our hearts more than anything. “Your eyes will remove all the mist that has been covering mine. Your smile will wipe away all tears. Your hand will forever strengthen me,” she wrote in isiXhosa.

5.       Jessica Nkosi

The actress, who became a mother to Namisa “Nami”Dlamini about a-year-and-a half ago, has continued to look glamourous, while enjoying motherhood.

In her latest picture with her daughter she shared how her greatest blessing is being a mom and how she cancels plans at times, just to sit at home with her child. “My greatest blessing is being a mom to this beautiful little girl”.
