Sugar has a bad rap – and with good reason. Consuming too much of the sweet stuff has been linked to various health conditions like weight gain/obesity, increased risk of type 2 diabetes, blood pressure and heart disease.
But at the same time we are told that sugar is bad for us, we are also advised to eat fruit, some of which contains high amounts of sugar.
These seemingly conflicting pieces of health advice have caused concern and confusion. So much so, some diets have even removed fruit from their lists.
