A husband can be arrested for raping his wife.
A husband can be arrested for raping his wife.

They were married and he raped her – twice in a span of seven years. And now this husband is facing hard prison time for doing what many men believe is their right: simply taking sex from your wife without consent, even when she refuses.

The first time he raped her was in February 2012 and the second was in May 2019, the high court in Makhanda heard.

The second rape happened after the couple attended a function together in East London, according to NPA regional spokesperson Anelisa Ngcakani.
