Anele Mdoda’s radio show raises over R200k for expectant mothers during Covid-19 pandemic

Everyone is doing their bit to help those in need during this pandemic. And as the country is still grappling with the effects of the pandemic, many celebrities have taken to using their platforms and influence to lend a much needed helping hand.

Media personality Anele Mdoda’s radio show has raised over 200k to support expectant mothers during the Covid-19 pandemic. She took to her Twitter to share the news and thank her listeners for their support.

“This week, my radio show raised over R200 000 to support moms to be, who have lost their income because of COVID19.Going in to give birth is already going to be an anxiety filled experience, imagine not even having a blanket to wrap your baby in. Thank you SA”, she wrote.

Following this, she later wrote that the campaign had drawn in a further R35 000 towards this cause.

Anele joins a long list of celebs who, despite the difficulties the entertainment industry is facing during this time, have pitched in to help where they can. Artists such as Black Coffee, who raised nearly 500K with his 6-part Home Brewed sessions and Thando Thabethe who has been giving out grocery parcels to families in need.
