Cape Town - Former stripper Cardi B will make her big screen debut in the upcoming stripper scam flick, Hustlers which will begin filming on Friday, 22 March 2019.

According to Hollywood Reporter, The Bodak Yellow hitmaker is set to join a star-studded cast which consists of Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu who were announced as stars of the film last year. Also joining the star-studded cast is Keke Palmer from Scream Queens, Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart and Julia Stiles from Riviera.

E!Online reports that the film which is going to be directed by Lorene Scafaria is based on a New York magazine article which was written by Jessica Pressler and is titled The Hustlers at Scores.

Scafaria’s script takes place in the late 2000s in New York City in the wake of the financial crisis and explores the toll it took on the livelihood of the strippers who relied on Wall Street clientele. The group of strip club employees then join together to scam their Wall Street clientele out of thousands of dollars.

While this will be Cardi B’s first major acting role she has previously been on the small screen where she appeared in two seasons of Love and Hip Hop: New York as herself and was a guest star on Gabrielle Union’s BET drama Being Mary Jane where she played a reality star called Mercedes, according to Rolling Stone Magazine.

While a release date for the film has not been announced, Cardi B took to Instagram to let her fans know that it would be coming “to a theatre near you”.
