Bullets flying, fake deaths and brilliant catch-phrases. For 13 years he was the evil puppet master David Genaro on e.tv's Rhythm City.
And he was so believable that fans still often referred to him as David, even though he had moved on from the role.

1. You can't kill me
Who is David Genaro without his famous line "you can't kill me?" Several attempts were made to take his life but he survived all of them, well almost.
When his arch-nemesis Suffocafe, played by Mduduzi Mabaso, pulled a gun on him he said, "You can't kill me, Suffo. Because I'm immortal. I am David Genaro."
Their rivalry will go down in history as one of the deadliest, and in the end it indeed was.
2. Bullets Fly
His character earned him the number 1 spot as an evil villain on TV. The calculating, ruthless and evil David enjoyed sabotaging people's lives.
He relentlessly terrorised his rivals without so much as a thought about the devastation he brought in the process of getting what he wanted. In this action-filled episode David, Byron and Jimmy face off against Twakkie and the 66s.
Despite being known as the devil himself, David revealed another side to himself, or was he putting on a show? The mastermind and manipulative businessman wore many hats and one of them was being a stepfather to Niki and Suffocate's child. When confronted by Suffocate on why he was making decisions for their daughter, he showed viewers a 'sweeter' side of his character.
"Suffo, I tell you. Whatever issues are actually going on between us we don't do it in front of a three-year-old child. Okay? That's not the way to parent. So we can step outside, we can really trade some interesting stuff, not in front of a child, please."

4. Get ahold of those nipples
The controversial businessman was known for his clever lines and memorable quotes. He even earned a Twitter account dedicated to his quotes.
One of the most liked out of all of them was when he said this during the show.
"I need you to get ahold of those nipples connections of yours and I need you to milk like you're very thirsty, Ron."I need you to get a hold of those nipple connections of yours and I need you to milk like you're very thirsty,Ron.

5. David Genaro cannot die
He gave the performance of his life when he went head to head with Ziyanda, played by Linda Sokhulu.
His iconic script and his deliverance won the hearts of many South Africans. Sadly, months later the 'immortal David' was shot dead marking his exit from the show after 13 years.
"Can't you see it, Can't you gaze into it. Let me tell you, David Genaro cannot die. David Genaro is immortal."
6. His epic death
In a dramatic scene, David was gunned down by his arch-rivals. The epic scene was the end of an era after his body was riddled with bullets by Suffocate and Khulekani (played by Mncedisi Shabangu).
